I suppose the need for a parking spot nearby depends on your purpose for shopping in the store.
If I am picking up a handful of sheetrock screws or faucett washers I can easily walk the 6 blocks from home and it would be pleasant on a nice day. On the other hand If I want to buy/rent an air compressor, get my mower serviced, rent the carpet washer or insulation shredder, then I want a parking space real close by. They might look at you funny if you tried to drag the carpet cleaner or one a wheelbarrow onto the #38 bus. Also one of the reasons that I shop there and pay more than I would at Home Despot is that the employees are actually knowedgeable and helpful. I hope that they don't get driven out of Minneapolis like the Peterson Hardware store did. (Also on 38th). I don't shop a lot at the stores near Linden Hills because I can never park there. If my wife needs a gift from Creative Kid Stuff I end up dropping her off and coming back later.
