Those who have a couple minutes should call their Minneapolis legislator and thank them for an exceptional job of sticking together.
I just got back from the Capitol where there are all sorts of deals being proposed in either direction. But the Minneapolis legislative delegation is holding firm to the city's top to legislative priorities in the bonding bill: the Planetarium and the Empowerment Zone (which delivers funds to three key areas: near north, the area around the Sears project and the Industrial area northeast of the university. The delegation is also working hard together on both housing and schools. Those who in the past have said the delegation was not united would be very happy to see what is going on....they deserve credit. (There was also a hearing in the Senate the just let out and, if hallway info is correct, the attempt to overturn Sen. Sabo's protection of Coldwater Spring was apparently defeated....so one more win for the good guys.) R.T.
