The Minneapolis Redistricting Commission has extended the deadline for individuals applying to serve as chair of the Commission. The chair must be an eligible voter in the City of Minneapolis. The new deadline is March 4. The members of the Redistricting Commission will elect the chair of the Commission no later than March 7, 2002. The Redistricting Commission is responsible for establishing new ward boundaries after the 2000 Census. The Commission will meet at least weekly through April 30, 2002, which is the deadline for approval of new Ward plan.
