List, Congradualations to Annie Young for stopping the corporatization of our parks. . . . . (well, probably not forever, but for now anyway -- which is a step forward)
Now, lets come up with some great community-based alternatives. When I was the director of the Lyndale Neighborhood Association we launched the Youth Farm and Market Project to provide meaningful employement for neighborhood youth within the context of learning employment skills. There must be a similar opportunity around the parks? As the dollars for summer youth employement programs dry up, and we start scrambling for meaningful summer opporutnities for our youth, would the concessions stand revenue revived be a great suppliment for an inspiring initiative?
