Listservs on yahoogroups do not need to take much time to maintain, if
users change their own email addresses.  

What bothers me regarding this stuff is the grievance process.  I keep on
hearing that if I communicate with elected officials, or MCDA officials, I
should use the phone, or send them snail mail.  I think that part of the
job of city officials should be to read and answer their email -- and if
complaints or grievances come by email, they need to be taken seriously and
get dealt with.

Flyering blocks does get response.  Phone trees are even better.  If people
don't read the flyers, that is not the fault of the neighborhood
association or the group doing the flyering.
