Is there demagoguery on this list? Oh sure, that goes with politics -- but
is Johnson and other list critics trying to say that elected officials
don't engage in lots of demagoguery? Lists like these are much better than
talk radio. Talk about sound bites and demagoguery.

I believe CM Barb Johnson would like reasonable access to amenities for
the Northside neighborhoods that she represents. Living, working, or
representing the "B" side of town can be frustrating. And frustration can
accrue, year after year, when there is not access to the small amenities that
make life easier and more satisfying for those you care about. Southsiders
can stumble over one coffee lounge, or ethnic eatery, and land on another.
You folks are jaded, but I love hanging out and eating with you. Cause you
got all the candy, toys, and purple hair.

We don't have many, many, pleasing options on the Northside. Whereas a DQ
would be crass at Lake Harriet, it might be ideal along Wirth Parkway. It
would attract more people to this stunningly beautiful trail and add to the
perceptions of safety and family entertainment there. I do not think we can
rationalize Chablis served at a cafe table on a dock at Wirth Lake, but it is
just beautiful there.

People, come and explore the Northside's natural features. Business
people, come and explore the opportunities to offer products and succeed on
the Northside. Our quadrant of the city has the most potential in both
business and pleasure of the whole city. It is there, waiting to be
discovered. And leaders like CM Barb Johnson are helping us reach our
potential. Day in, and week out. Month in and year out.
