I was about to write in that this was the most efficient handling of heavy
snow I've ever seen the department work. Actually, I should have also
written that for the ice storm last week.

What is that new blue salt they are using? It's different and really works
on the streets. For the first time, I did not slide down the hill and thru
the underpass from Stinson to East Hennepin. Trust me, it's a thrill you
can do without. There was no ice there and none on the Washington Ave.
overpass just off Cedar either.

'Swunnerful!

Today, Saturday March 16 with my curbside parking on ban for the day, my
street is plowed to the curb and, for the first time I can remember, the
snowbirds were ticketed!

Not towed, but at least ticketed.

also, because of the ticket on the car in front of my house, the car got
moved ahead of the plow and the plow driver had a good angle to approach my
drive. I got less plow windrow snow blocking my drive than I can remember,
soooo

I am one happy snow-plow camper.

I agree with Lisa that a heavy snow at this time of the year does not call
for the same approach I'd want the division to take if the ice followed by
10" scenario happened in November or December. If it happened then, we'd
have 4 months to live with the mess unless it was removed ASAP. Happening
now, it just shouldn't qualify as a red-alert emergency.
