At a Whittier Alliance meeting tonight, representatives from the Children�s Theatre Company unveiled their plans to expand their facility at the 2500 block of 3rd Avenue South. The Michael Graves design is absolutely breathtaking. Somehow Graves managed to be sensitive the existing architecture at the MIA and surrounding historic structures, while being modern and playful as a theater for children should be. Graves is getting lots of exposure around town, but I�ll tell you he does not disappoint with this latest design! I hate to sound Pollyannish, but, my lord, I�m excited!!!
I�ll tell you, the Whittier neighborhood is a unique place. Yes, we�ve got crack houses and problems but we�ve also got world class architects designing $30 million dollar projects that will be a statewide draw. I love my neighborhood!
