The Silent Sports meeting last night at Wirth was great....about 40 or so people...off road bike folks, and lots and lots of cross country skiers.
There was an amazing spirit in the room...one person after the other talking about how they wanted to volunteer to help revitalize Wirth as a center for winter sports, and lay out a legit off road bike trail in the city. John Erwin ran the meeting and broke the group into four subcommittees that will be producing recommendations on ski races, trail grooming, an off road bike plan and fundraising. It's clear this really tapped a vein of enthusiasm...and anyone else who wants to play a role should contact John Erwin. R.T.
