My letter to the Pioneer Press regarding Ray Stoltzman's condemnation of Minneapolis
made it in:

I would like to say that growing up in North St. Paul was a difficult, difficult
experience. I and my siblings experienced verbal and physical harassment (as did
anyone who was "different") and my letter was written more to these people--fellow
students, teachers, and school administrators--who still read the Pioneer Press and
know who they are, than for the benefit of Mr. Stoltzman. (If that man is who I think
he is, he and I have sparred before.)

With my 30-year high school reunion coming up, naturally I hope that the sudden influx
of students of color to the township and the experience of becoming parents themselves
will have matured people, but I have to admit that I'm nervous as hell and ready for
anything.
