I fail to see why the police think it is a reasonable use of their time to
arrest a group of bicyclists who fail to obey a traffic semaphore. If they
are concerned about that kind of behavior, I invite them to park by my
house and ticket the 1 in 3 automobile drivers that fail to come to a stop
at the stop sign or drive with excessive speed. I am fearful for the
safety of the many children in my neighborhood.

The message I get from the Critical Mass/police and the situation on my
street is that maybe the police believe it is a greater crime to make
certain political statements than it is too actually commit a traffic
infraction, but the only way they can punish a person for making those
political statements is to charge them for traffic infractions.
