The 'In The Heart of The Beasts' annual May Day parade and festival in South
Minneapolis is always
held on the first Sunday of May. This year that falls on May 5th, which also happens
to be Cinco de
Mayo. Sounds to me like it'll be a great day to celebrate spring and Mexico and life!
The parade has
historically lined up along E. 25th St. and 18th Av. So., moved along 25th St. to
Bloomington Av.,
heading south on Bloomington Av. until 34th or 35th (?), turning right and into
Powderhorn Park
where the raising of The Tree of Life occurs amidst much hoopla. It is a truly
grassroots,
community-building/sharing endeavor and event.
