I wrote a friend off-line that I wish I had not used a reference to the master-slave relation. It is a poor and disrespectful analogy.
I also wrote that there is no way I can ever relate to how an African American feels in this society. I can tell you that each time I hear of one of these incidents I squelch the desire to pick up a stone, a crow bar, a brick, or a coke bottle filled with gas and strike out.
