PUBLIC MEETING ON PROPOSED SIXTH PARK DISTRICT OFF-LEASH DOG PARK

MONDAY, APRIL 8, 2002 6:30 p.m.

LINDEN HILLS PARK, 3100 WEST 43RD STREET, MINNEAPOLIS

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board has called a Public Meeting
to discuss a proposal to locate an off-leash dog park within one of two
multi-acre sites between Lake Calhoun and Lake Harriet in the Linden
Hills Neighborhood. If one of the proposed sites is approved, it would
become the city's fifth off-leash dog park and the first within the
Sixth Park District.

The two sites currently under consideration are adjacent parcels located
within an "island" of wooded land surrounded by streets. The sites are
roughly southwest of the archery range and northwest of the Lake Harriet
picnic grounds. An existing walking path separates the two sites.

Site A: 4.9 acre parcel at Linden Hills Boulevard & Richfield Road
Site B: 2.3 acre parcel at William Berry Parkway & Richfield Road

Park Board staff members will make a presentation and collect resident
comments on the proposed sites. All interested citizens are encouraged
to participate.

For more information, call Park Community Planner Belinda Davis at
(612) 661-4800.
