However, I can understand the suspicion and concern that many Minneapolis residents may have for allowing the timing of the fate of their recently elected city hall representation to be in the hands of the Minnesota Legislature. The Legislature which is comprised almost exclusively of Republicans and Democrats has a record of being insensitive about the safety of Minneapolis residents on Interstates 94, 394, and 35W; Minneapolis homeowners rights; and the need for campaign reform. (I believe that Minneapolis Legislators and other Minnesota Legislators are the only governmental group in Minnesota that can legally allow their publicly paid staff members to work on efforts for reelection.)
