Chris, you would be surprized at how many bikes get picked up and taken to the recovery center and are later sold. There is a very good chance of getting your bike back if it has a license so the cops can ID it. At the bike auctions every year people find their bikes but have no way to prove ownership. Check the PD auction schedule and go over to the auction at 60th and Harriet (6024) Ave. So. You will be amazed! Kids steal them for a fast ride someplace and just dump them. Some probably do get chopped up, but it is worth the effort to get a bike back. Myrt 8th ward
