I have great hope for e-democracy. One of the things that I envision is an
investigative discussion process. We look at a specific issue, contact folks
that can give us some background facts, discuss it online and try to come to
concessus.
I am both concerned and curious about what is happening at the Wirth house.
I don't want to accuse anybody of anything without sufficient information.
I would like Park Board staff and commissioners to explain what the competing
proposals are and what are the criteria for making a decision about which
proposal has greater benefit to the public. It is also important to look at
the criteria for deal sweetening, side agreements, and potential conflict of
interest.
I think it would be very helpful if the media most closely connected to this
list could help with some of the research.
I have a great love of park history and would love to see a park history
museum and research library. I also think the MPRB needs to look at the
bottom line and how proposals can bring in additional revenue.
So I am asking for information from list members about the details. Annie
Young, John Erwin, Marie Hauser, Vivian Mason, Emily Ero-Phillips, I think
are list members. Scott Russell, David Brauer, Steve Brandt are list media
sleuths on the list. Is there any one else who can give us the details?
I am hoping we can kick it around and come to some concessus as to the best
use of the Wirth House.
