Not only did I not sign my previous message, but I didn't even send a message not to sign. If I had said something it would have been about the need for better education for new drivers of all cultures and ages including not just the laws but customs and courtesy that will make us better drivers. I work with P.E.A.C.E., Parents and Elders of Africa for Common Efforts, if we could get funding it would be great to work on multi cultural, multilingual, driver's training. My other observation. We do need to understand each other and be able to talk about cultural and social norms, both reality and perception. And we need to look at or assumptions. Eritrean, Oromo, Ethiopian, Liberian, Kenyan, Ghanaian, Nigerian, Sudanese, Gambian, Somali- I some experience with some folks of these national origins. Unless I know someone personally, I am unable to discern a driver's nationality.
On another subject: a different kind of bias. I am biased because I have worked with Susan Young and Annie Young. I hope the both get some kind of list award because of their willingness to explain stuff to us, and for their commitment to get the word out and be accountable. Thanks, Scott Vreeland Seward _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
