Thanks for the clarification, Brandon. After having my children in the MPS system until this year, I'm justifiably gun-shy of anything that looks like just one more "new teaching" method to be tried out on a captive audience of students. I do believe that you're correct in saying that your experience has some elements that can and should be applied throughout the system as much as possible -- community schools and parental involvement. I too worked my way through high school, and can testify that if your priorities are straight you can still do well in school.
