If you work in a hospital and have taken care of people with closed head injuries, you would see the sad results for not only the patient but the families. Yes helmets may not be cool, but they save a lot of suffering. I have had people say after the fact that they were so stupid for not having a helmet on. Closed head injuries rob people of a normal life more often than most in general life understand. A helmet is a small price to pay for being able to walk, talk, and control ones emotions. You only get one brain, don't waste it foolishly. Living on welfare the rest of your life because you can't remember, think in a logical pattern, or are unable to follow a series of directions is not cool either.
