With respect to Mr. Jon and his reasonable post, I was struck how structurally similar the issues of the siting of off-leach dog parks is to the siting of affordable housing developments. The best example is the set of arguments used to characterize the Boulevard proposal for the Norwest Bank at 53th and Lyndale.
These are territorial disputes that should be open to compromise. While these 2 cases are nowhere near the scope or political/emotional import of the 50 year old Middle East crisis, they all share characteristics like how they define reality to fit their respective positions, demonize the opponnents, and appeal to higher principles for justification.
