List MVP Steve Brandt has a story this morning in the Strib about the City's
timetable and failure to meet its goals so far in replacing the demolished
Hollman public housing units:

>From the story:

The goal [of replacement by 2002], set in multiparty negotiations in 1999,
was not legally binding, and Cora McCorvey, the city's public-housing
director, said that in hindsight it was naive.

"There were not models anywhere. We were learning as we [went]," she said.

But she pledged that the Minneapolis Public Housing Agency (MPHA)
"absolutely" will meet a September 2004 court deadline for finishing all 770
units. And she asserted that it has accomplished much more in terms of
dispersing public housing to the suburbs than any agency in the nation
facing a comparable job.
