Congratulations to the Mississippi Corridor Neighborhoods Coalition,
Southeast Como, District Seven and the West Side Citizens Organization for
their excellent Clean Energy Now Campaign, that along with numerous
environmental groups, has speeded Xcel's decision to convert these urban
Power Plants to natural gas, greatly reducing their green house emissions,
sulfer dioxide, mercury, etc, which are making fish inedible, and are
causing increased asthma and cancer in urban neighborhoods.

Can we have a win-win-win for business, our community & the Earth?
Does environmental responsibility have to cost more or mean a lesser
lifestyle?
Is an all- organic McDonalds with green, renewable energy possible?
Can we create a sustainable future for our children?

The Alliance for Sustainability and St. Joan of Arc Church are pleased to
present

THE NATURAL STEP
SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS &
COMMUNITY SEMINAR

a creative new approach for reducing costs, improving performance and
becoming environmentally and socially responsible based on consensus and
systems thinking. Its purpose is to develop and share a common framework
comprised of easily understood, scientifically-based principles that can
serve as a compass to guide society toward a sustainable future.

Two-Parts: Mon May 6 & 13 6:15-9:45 pm (5:45 pm Registration)
In the new, green Administration Building (tour offered) of
St. Joan of Arc Church, 4537 Third Ave. S, Minneapolis

Please Pre-Register by May 2 for Discount: $95 for Alliance members ($105
otherwise) as space is limited. Add $15 for registration after May 2. There
are a limited number of low-income scholarships available. Contact: Alliance
for Sustainability, 612-331-1099, [EMAIL PROTECTED]; www.mtn.org/iasa

You'll learn simple, cost-effective approaches you can use and how they are
being successfully applied at home, work (businesses from Electrolux and
Ikea to McDonalds and Nike), government, academic and religious
institutions, and nonprofits to save money and create safe, healthy
environments.

This session will be led by Terry Gips, an economist, ecologist, and author
(Breaking the Pesticide Habit and The Humane Consumer and Producer Guide)
who assisted St. Joan with its $2.7 million building renovation. Terry is
one of the first TNS-US trainers, President of the Alliance for
Sustainability and head of Sustainability Associates, a Minneapolis
environmental consulting firm. He has served as a White House and
Congressional aide, co-founder of the Sacramento Community Garden Program,
Cargill economist, and Aveda Director of Ecological Affairs.

So why be hopeful? Because we can create new jobs, restore our environment
and promote social stability. The solutions are creative, practical and
profitable.
-- Paul Hawken, Author and Founding Chair of the Natural Step-US
