Ooops!  In a case of "multi-taskus-posty-hasty" I accidentally sent this reply to Lynn instead of the list, as I'd intended.....thoughts and some info to explore online as well, for those so inclined...

I've been pedalling my SUV all week - and loving the process. I invite you all to check out the info below.....

Right on!  We in Minneapolis can make a huge, positive difference in the quality of the environemnt we and the kiddos and all the other creatures indwell.  This change will benefit us each physically as we excercise.  It will benefit the urban community as we move through urban space less violently, and connect more with each other as we do so.

After I post this, I will hop on my Organic Engines SUV (Sensible Utility Vehicle) and human-power my way to three job-sites today, then to help my daughter out with a dog-walking job she's landed for herself, then to the KFNAB meeting tonight.  I will carry about 100 pounds of supplies with me, up and down hills and all, with no problem....just fun!  Utilizing this sustainable mode of travel in Minneapolis is a simple, inexpensive way to "be the change we need to see in the world" and to "live into the future in a good, caring way."

We in Minneapolis have an opportunity to create one of the most powerful tools for urban, planetary, and human health ever: a strong element of human-powered urban transportation.  coupled with excellent mass transit, this could be the least expensive and most extensive way to revitalize our city available.

Gotta go HPV off to my first work-site of the day!
