Barb Lickness of Whittier: Anyone out there know what happened
yesterday at the 62 convention? Did Shreves or Dibble get the
endorsement? The strib doesn't say.
Scott Dibble got the Senate endorsement. Catherine Shreves
conceded after the first ballot because Scott was so close to the 60
percent point of endorsement. Met Council member Frank Hornstein got
endorsement for the House seat (being vacated by Scott) on the first
ballot, beating out Mark Lindberg.
Delegates had to choose between four terrific candidates.
Congratulations to both Scott and Frank--they will be a terrific
asset for Minneapolis at the Capital. I'm sure Catherine Shreves will
go on to do something cool, interesting and public-policy oriented.
Ditto for Mark.
