This puts me only about two blocks down from First Avenue. Just follow 7th St to First Avenue. If I remember correctly if you enter after 6 PM and leave before 6 AM, parking is only $3.00. Parking at this ramp requires you to cross Hennepin Ave and some of the people standing on the corner of Hennepin Ave and 7th St look kinda scary, but I doubt you have much to worry about. Last week, I stood on the on the corner of 7th St and 1st Ave looking for someone to sell me Garbage tickets. The scariest part was watching the downtown drivers as the attempted to escape downtown for their homes. There is a fairly good PDF map at http://www.downtownmpls.com/img/50_maps/hirez_map.pdf that shows parking ramps in downtown, this might help you locate the ramp I mentioned above.
