Regarding Barbara's post:

"I used to live in India in the late 70's. It used to
get up to 126 degrees on a regular basis. It was way
too hot for this Norsky/Irish girl. I am sure global
warming hasn't helped the situation nor has the fact
that their population has reached over a billion
people.

I think it's fair to say Minneapolis is definitely a
"green city". Many of our citizens actively engage in
activities to improve our environment and protect it
for future generations. All of these people are to be
commended. Barb Lickness "

Thanks for the post, Barbara.

When I say we have it good in Mpls, I mean in more
ways than our weather. It is citizen participation
that makes this one of the best cities to live in.

Global warming is a factor in the destruction of
species. There is concern that the coral reefs will
not survive. We are in danger of losing 20% of our
bird species world wide in the next decade or so.
Malaria is on the rise.

Cars remain the largest single contributor to global
warming.

Obesity in the population is around 50%. Now, even
young children are at risk for obesity and diabetes.
