As I was riding the bus down Hennepin Avenue (because Nicollet is closed to buses currently) it stopped right in front of Block E and I was able to read one of the signs on the fence. It said "McCaffery- Thoughtful and Creative Developers"
It struck me that Hooters is not very thoughtful nor creative. As for the buses on the Nicollet Mall, as a bus rider, I like them since they get me closer to my connection in the morning than having to get off on Hennepin. Also I like being able to take the bus to Target on my way to work and on my way home. Perhaps a compromise might work. Ban the buses from the mall on the weekends or after 7 at night since this is probably the time when people are most interested and able to make use of the outdoor cafes, etc. on Nicollet.
