It was nice to get some facts on how many routes/trips/people bus the
Nicollet Mall from Mr. Gibbons. Lets not forget the taxi cabs and "lost
 drivers" also!
It does astound me that the City would spend millions of dollars to build
something that attracts thousands of people, especially in the Summer
months, then run 930 busses through the middle of it all every day! >>

Keith says; I have been equally astounded that City, County, Metro, State,
Federal, and regulated utilities' monies would be poured into closing Fifth
Street DT to automobile traffic. Gridlock and exacerbated pollution levels
will be a huge negative outcome of this folly to accommodate the little
choo-choo train. I will add that a place called The Depot, nearby on
Washington Avenue, might have made a wonderful depot for this toy choo-choo
(our light rail). Instead, the previous DFL regime pawned our tax base to
create an ice skating rink there. I will henceforth call that effort "The DFL
Ice Follies".
