The central office budget is that high. Why all of this hooting and stamping of feet over the special education budget? The Board of Education is poised to approve the administration's proposal for $30 million in budget cuts. You can't trim the special education budget because the district is already in hot water for cutting too many corners on special education services. Why not talk about the millions of dollars that are spent each year in order to keep the schools in SW Minneapolis under-enrolled? Why not talk about the cost of maintaining multiple curriculum tracks? Why don't we take a closer look at the central office budget? And why is the district spending $125,000 plus perks on a COO (David Jennings) who isn't qualified to be a COO (in terms of education and prior experience), and why was Jennings hired without a search process? -Doug Mann Mann for School Board <http://educationright.tripod.com> I have noted that most of the money budgeted for 'impact aid' can be cut without reducing revenues to the schools in SW Minneapolis _______________________________________ Minneapolis Issues Forum - A Civil City Civic Discussion - Mn E-Democracy Post messages to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subscribe, Unsubscribe, Digest option, and more: http://e-democracy.org/mpls
