Why can't we just view the statue of Mary Richards as a current version of
Americana -- much like Norman Rockwell's Saturday Evening Post covers were in
their time? These, by the way, are now a traveling exhibit from New York's
Metropolitan Museum of Art (one of the great museums and arbiters of what is
art, IMHO) and will be coming to The Minnesota Museum of Art in our sister
city later this summer. I saw this exhibit when I was recently in Tampa, and
I highly recommend it.
