Terrell's points are well made. My thought is that adding all of that displaced truck traffic on I-94 to the northwest will do a lot to further clog that highway in both directions.
As far as the Doubletree Hotel is concerned: Yes, it is to be torn down because it is too tall for its location in the safety zone extending from the end of the runway. And be reassured, the MAC, with its vast experience in hotels, has purchased it and is operating it until it is torn down.
