Thank you Jena. You are correct, but the people who deserve the care for Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome are the children. If combat causes mental scarring in adult soldiers, what does it do to children? How much more inured to violence in their lives are they? And if this syndrome affects adults with more alcohol and drug abuse, what does it do to children? Having experienced abuse and violence in my childhood, I can tell you that it takes years of adult soul searching to shake that fear that comes in the middle of the night.
By the way, American Indian Housing and Dean Zimmerperson deserve thanks for their efforts to find a house for the unfortunate family today. Having a safe house to sleep in as soon as possible is an important thing for the children as well as the parents. After having your house taken over, I am sure you know how important that feeling of security is. And how long it takes to get it back again.
