The Disabled American Veterans Department of
Minnesota, Inc. gratefully accepts clothing and
quality used goods. Donated goods are sold at the
DAV's very popular thrift store, which is located at
the corner of University and Dale in the Unidale Mall
in St. Paul. The DAV also has a terrific automobile
donation program (in case you REALLY want to clear out
the garage!!).

Your donation would go a long way toward providing
services to Minnesota's disabled vets. The DAV spends
86% of its thrift store revenues on veteran's service
programs. For example, the program funds a
transportation network which delivers disabled
Minnesota vets to VA hositals, including the one south
Minneapolis.

Unfortunately the DAV Thrift store's days may be
numbered. The City of St. Paul has decided to condemn
the Unidale Mall, which is 100% leased and in fine
physical condition, in order to make way for a
speculative $30 million development deal with about
$10 million in City subsidy. A legally suspect TIF
district could lead to litigation similar to the
recent Walser case. This potential destruction of a
veterans charity was in part funded by almost $1
million in Livable Communities funds from the Met
Council. But I digress....

The point is, the DAV needs donations of clothing,
automobiles, and cash. The City of St. Paul and the
Met Council are trying to put them out of business.
Call 651-291-1212 for information about donations.
