Does anybody know why people who are downtown on the weekend are forced to
go down 94west or 394west after 1am? This is in the warehouse district
mostly I think, around the blocks of Cafe Brenda, South Beach, etc.. It is
very annoying to have to go the exact opposite of where we need to go, we
live 3 blocks from Lake Nokomis, but if you are on one of the streets in
that area at 1am, you are forced to either go down 94 west all the way to
the Dowling Ave. Exit and turn around, or go down 394 west to the Louisiana
ave. exit to turn around. What's the purpose behind this?, We were just in
Dallas and Chicago and neither city did this at 1am on the weekend. My
opinion is that it is truly a waste of police use as there were about 5
officers directing traffic.
