Well, Patrick's questions for Pawlenty are on point,
imo, I think it will only be fair to ask Roger Moe
about his vote forcing judges to give automatic
preference to presumably heterosexual married couples
in child custody/adoption cases. Gee, wouldn't be
great for glbt people to have a gubernatorial
candidate who respects the rights and integrity of
glbt families?

The Green Party is proud to offer just such a
candidate. Ken Pentel. Ken will be in the parade and
at the Green Party booth in Loring Park Sunday
afternoon as well. He fully embraces the Greens
numerous platform planks on gay, lesbian, bisexual,
transgendered and intersexed issues.

Since Ventura has decided not to run, Pentel has
become the only candidate advocating equal access for
same sex couples to the the civil marriage contract,
as do all our endorsed candidates for state
legislature and our party.(this is one big difference
is that Pentel's party is firmly behind him on this
issue).

The national Green Party platform states "We support
the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual, and
transgendered people in the areas of housing, jobs,
civil marriage and benefits, child custody, and in all
areas of life, the right to be treated equally with
all other people."

To tie this in to Mpls, I strongly encourage people
who support equal rights for glbt people to take a
close look at our Mpls endorsed candidates-Holle Brian
for Senate District 62, Bonnie Smith for House
District 58A and Eric Oines for House Seat 58B, and
also Tim Davis for 5th Congressional District--on glbt
issues, I can tell you they are all ahead of the DFL.

With Pride,
