An interesting side note to all of this is that residents of
House District 59A cannot vote in the primary for
Christine Jax over Tim Penny and simultaneously vote
for Len Biernat for re-election to the House.  If they do
it will be a spoiled ballot.

It appears with primary challenges to both Wellstone and Pawlenty that party regulars will be forced to vote in their party's primary and are thus prevented from messing with the Penny v. Jax tilt. There is some thought that both DFLers and Republicans want Jax as the IP primary winner because she appears to be a less formidable threat to Moe and Pawlenty than Penny.

cartoonist extraordinaire Pete Wagner as his lt. gov.
