I don't think the city plans to repaint the crosswalks. A study came
out recently indicating that painted crosswalks give pedestrians
a false sense of security which caused more vehicle-pedestrian
accidents.

The law in Minnesota is that pedestrians have the right of way at
any uncontrolled intersection. You could give it a try at 33rd and
Hennipen, but today you'd be risking your life.

Crosswalks
Does the city have plan to repaint crosswalks? As both a walker and
driver,
I notice a lot of intersections with extremely faded crosswalks. The
only
time I have ever noticed that the city has repainted the street is in
relationship to road construction or shortly after (like seal coating).
Some
sort of marking would help keep cars out of the crosswalk at stoplights,
definitely a safety issue.
