Hooray for this! I hope the Twins don't ink a deal with St. Paul and that the legislature gets the chance to improve last year's legislation so that a city (any city) doesn't have to bear the cost of a new ballpark all by its lonesome self. There is a good explanatory editorial in today's paper (STrib), I believe, that details the calcuations. It is obvious that a larger district should pick up the tab, thus making everyone's share more reasonable, plus the State should kick in some bucks, as a new ballpark would be a statewide resource.
With another chance at the legislature, and RT's political naivete diminished (let's hope he learned a thing or two from Kelly's double-cross), there is a chance that we could get a much better stadium bill in the next session and then the stadium could be built in it's rightful place -- Minneapolis. After all, we have the best location and the biggest fan base. I know that a whole bunch of you are against a ballpark no matter what, but I'm entitled to my own opinion too, no matter how unpopular it is.
