Perhaps the Park Board should have saved the $12m they raised to rebuild the Fort Snelling Fields and the $$$$m's they plan on spending to buy/build pretty new offices to focus on old-fashioned maintenance. Not to mention the large raises the commissioners gave themselves early this year.
Many candidates ran on a "maintenance" platform last fall - where are the results of all those campaign promises? Fiscal irresponsibility doesn't just start when cuts are mentioned. Please support the levy cap proposed by the Mayor and City Council and hold our politicians accountable.
