This is exactly what Congress is demanding for corporations - an independent Board of Directors to protect the interests of stockholders. Independent boards under City management would protect the interests of taxpayers. After all, being a stockholder is voluntary, being a taxpayer is not. If the MCDA Board of Commissioners had remained independent, we might not be in such deep financial doo doo.
