There may be some confusion about why this thread is not germane. To clarify: Minneapolis-Issues is not a forum for everything that happens *to* Minneapolitans. If that were the case, almost any national topic (which by nature affects us here) would be allowed here. Also, this is not a forum for statewide issues (such as state power policy, etc.). Those discussions belong on our sibling list, Minnesota-Politics-Discuss. See http://www.e-democracy.org This forum was designed for issues in which the city has a large measure of control (say, anything considered by the City Council, Park, Library, School or neighborhood boards) or issues with a disproportionate, identifiable local effect (airport noise, affordable housing, Bassett Creek watershed, 35W or 62 freeway expansion). The reason? There are lots of forums to debate national issues. Minneapolis-Issues was set up as one of the few places where local issues would be prime. Please respect this principle - it was not set up to favor/disfavor anyone.
