Keith exults: Natalie JL and Dean Z. were indeed allowed into the room, with
all other CMs, to be consulted by the City Attorney in the matter of Natalie
JL et al. City of Mpls (redistricting). Apparently not much consulting went
down. Outside attorney costs will be well under $200 per hour. This I was
told today by CM NJL. No Pig Latin was spoken, I am told. CM NJL challenged
under what law she, and Dean, should be kept out and was then not barred from
the meeting. Story not over, there may be "private meetings" with each CM in
'round robin' fashion. Oy Veh (not pig latin)!!

Dear Mr. City Attorney: When you exclude my CM, you breach my right to
representation, along with the rest of us up here on the plantation, err ward.

This is to clarify that a discussion of the lawsuit
 relating to
redistricting entitled Natalie Johnson Lee, et al. vs. City
 of Minneapolis
will be held this Friday, July 12, in Room 315 City Hall at
 the conclusion
of the regular City Council meeting. The Open Meeting Law
 allows for a
meeting to be closed to discuss attorney-client
 communications. If the City
Attorney states that there is just cause to close the
 meeting, a motion may
be made to close it. Since this is a lawsuit, I presume
 that this meeting
will be held in closed session to inform the Council
 Members of the status
         of the lawsuit.

Keith says; Strange irony that the Council may close the
 meeting to discuss
        the Redistricting Lawsuit.
The Lawsuit was initiated by Natalie Johnson Lee, et al. Her
 being in the
Council should allow her to attend this closed meeting. Any
 body speak pig
        Latin?
