This is a new improvement over our previous e-mail notification list, and we hope it will reach a larger and more diverse audience. CANOEING CONDITIONS Jim Hafner, our Senior Technician and canoeing explorer, reports that the water flow over the Minnehaha Creek dam is currently at 250cfs with a Lake Mtka level of 929.9. This level of water flow creates dangerous canoeing conditions and canoeing is not recommended. Creek maps and canoeing information is available at http://www.minnehahacreek.org/f-recreation.htm TWIN CITIES ENVIRONMENTAL PARTNERSHIP (MEP) GRANT PROGRAM The Metropolitan council has announced the final year of funding for these grants which cover educational and implementation projects to address nonpoint source pollution to metro area lakes, steams, and rivers.
