Thank you for the earwig info! At my place, they are most often seen on a milkweed plant, a volunteer, in the boulevard garden. Glad to hear earwigs remove garden pests.
Days before the earwigs arrived, I had a stunning pink bug, sort of a beetle, that was actually munching milkweed flowers and leaves. The earwigs seem to have displaced the pink bugs. The earwigs don't damage the milkweed or anything else as far as I can see.
