Members:

I believe there was a virus attached to last email that went through
(Getting to the Bottom of the Ballot, see de-virused text below). It is
the KAK worm - WScript.KakWorm.dr.

I dont believe its a serious one. See
http://vil.mcafee.com/dispVirus.asp?virus_k=10509

How can you disinfect? Odds are most of you have virus protection or
security upgrades to programs such as Outlook. If so, the malicious
script never ran. But if you are not sure, you can check your system
online at:
http://housecall.antivirus.com/housecall/start_pcc.asp

I apologize for the inconvenience, but I want to take this as an
opportunity to remind everyone **this is why we ask you to send list
posts in Plain Text format, not HTML or MIME which give colored
backgrounds and specific fonts.

PLEASE, if you can reconfigure your email program to send Plain Text, or
at least configure it to send messages to [EMAIL PROTECTED] that way,
youd save everyone hassles. (PS AOL users are locked into HTML mail, at
least in version 7.)

If you need to reply to Michelle for bottom-of-the-ballot stories, you
can safely reply to this message and paste [EMAIL PROTECTED] in the
address field.

Again, sorry for the inconvenience, and if you wonder why I sometimes
reject non-plain-text mail, this is why.

Subject: [Mpls] voting stories needed

To List Members:
The Getting to the Bottom of the Ballot effort will be producing an
election guide to be inserted in the August 19thedition of the SW
Journal. We are looking for residents to give us stories about funny
experiences they have had while trying to get to the bottom of the
ballot. This could include voting bloopers (oops, I voted for the wrong
candidate), interesting voting methods (I always vote for the women
candidates), encounters with candidates prior to elections (I tried to
hide behind the chair when the candidate knocked on my door, but he saw
me through the window), or any other election/voting related story you
think would be interesting and relevent to voters who are thinking about
their own experienceaboutgetting to the bottom of the ballot.
Getting to the Bottom of the Ballot is a project sponsored by
neighborhoods in Southwest, Southwest Journal, and Southwest Community
Education. This effort to help folks vote more in local races will be
sponsoring candidates fairs and local government/election educational
programs.
Please email me off-list by tommorow(Sunday, August 4th) and include
your name and neighborhood.
