I did not call the Police Federation because I was trying to defend Natalie
Johnson Lee.  She is quite capable of doing that for herself.  I called and
left a message expressing my feelings about the leadership of the
Federation using this situation to score political points.  These people
are seasoned political veterans.  They knew exactly what they were doing.

If that's the case, the federation would put out a statement that retracts
some of what they said.  Comparing Martha Donald to Timothy McVeigh is an
outrageous  comparison.  The worst part of this is, as I said before, it's
an insult to the memory of Melissa Schmidt, who tried to bring people
together rather than tearing them apart.

Why?  I'm sure what's said on the list is nothing compared to the messages
that were flying around the city of minneapolis email system the last few
days.
