I was just a little shocked by the article in today's Star Trib. Utility
fees up six percent? A home worth $155,000 sees a twenty percent tax hike,
While the more expensive homes see less of a tax hike? Soak the poor and
give to the rich? I thought we were in progressive Minneapolis? Well anyway
I don't get it. This has been three years running that we raise taxes and
cut the city budget, so all I really want to know is where in the heck is
all our tax money going to.
I think it's high time for spending freezes across the board, excluding
public works, police and the fire dept.. There are deparments that could be
scaled down, and some that are duplicated at county and state levels. Why
don't we go there before cutting the libraries and the parks? Just giving my
opinion on an issue that has been bugging me for the last three years
running now.
