I can't read the mayor's mind/heart for his wants. I like him and
respect him. But in this case, I think he is trying to have it both ways
- and yes, I think the 2 messages are incompatible.

I think when you pick sides - or chide one side - in a public
communication, that's incompatible with a message of bringing people
together. (Caveat: I have only seen the KSTP.com excerpt of the mayor's
statement - perhaps there's a similar veiled putdown of the Federation.)

R.T.'s mayoral communication is a perfectly valid message, which we can
debate. But I just don't think it was one of reconciliation.
