To the Park Board,

I would strongly reconsider calling your 3.1 million dollar "emergency
meeting" this evening and reexamine your course of action. Mayor Rybak and
the council's rebuff on your plans are fair, well reasoned, and a bitter but
necessary pill to swallow. He has also provided a fair and reasonable road
map to resolve this issue down the road. Now is not the time for hasty
calls for a pissing match veto override. I think it's fair to say that you
all might as well paint targets on your back (the electoral kind) if you
don't adopt a more reasonable stance.

The way I read it now it's going to cost us residents of the city a cool 3
mill so you can demonstrate your autonomy. Tell me it's about more than
that...if it's not please don't try and put your names on the ballot next
time around. Everyone else is in the boat on this mess we inherited from
the Giveaway Gals, it's time for you guys to climb in too.
